I was assigned to create a booklet using text, accompanied by point, line, and shape, that supports and helps visually communicate the meaning of a poem.

During this project I pushed myself to produce as many versions as I could before settling on one direction, which allowed me to more effectively find the best design solutions.
Layout for Print
This layout was used to make physical zines, which I printed many times in order to nail the craft and viewing experience. Constant printing and assessing allowed me to fully understand how the booklet could be optimized.

I started working with the spread that reads, “joins a dancing stream of light—”…
Then, I built the rest of the spreads and the front and back cover to match my initial design. This way, they would all follow a cohesive design system.
