Junebug

I designed a logo for my craft market booth called “Junebug”, from which I sell crochet items and henna tattoos. Henna requires a lot of control and practice, so my target was to create a professional brand identity that would instill trust in my potential customers.

Concept Sketches

I knew I would need a logo that would encompass the variable aspects of my business. I decided that a simple june bug icon would be suitably versatile. While sketching I discovered that the “U” in Junebug could be replaced with a june bug icon, so I mostly focused on finding an icon that would be best for doing so.

Refining the “U” Bug

Throughout this phase I worked through reducing the logo to only its necessary elements. I was able to break it down into four shapes that resemble a “U” but still immediately come across as a bug, with eye shines giving it some personality.
